Commercial Powder Coating

What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is a highly effective method of protecting your newly completed metal fabrications. Commercial powder coating offers superior corrosion resistance, abrasion protection, and an attractive finish. As if that’s not enough reason to choose powder coating, it also has significantly less environmental impact that traditional liquid coatings and eliminates wasted overspray.

Our Commercial Powder Coating Process

It all starts when we strip the disassembled product down to the bare metal. This removes any old paint, rust, dirt, grease, or other impurities. Once the product is clean, it is sprayed with a dry, colored (if requested) powder that is sprayed through an electrically charged gun to allow the powder to stick to the surface.

Next, the sprayed surface goes into the oven at 400˚F for 32 minutes, allowing the powder to gel together and seep into every nook and cranny of the product, ensuring perfectly even coverage and a brilliant finish. Commercial powder coating at our Denver, PA location is a cost-effective option for large businesses to achieve a durable coating on a huge variety of products.

What Can You Powder Coat?

If it's metal, we can coat it! Common commercial items we powder coat include high end office furniture, display racks, food processing equipment (using FDA and USDA approved coatings), railings, trade show items, metal signs, awnings, electronic parts, and more. Not Just Powder Coating Services

Besides standard commercial powder coating, Ingham’s is also equipped to provide extra services unique to our customers. We perform burn-off services for many other powder coating companies in the area, as well as for our own customers. Our unique burn-off service is a safe alternative to chemical processes for removing grease, paint, powder, and grime from iron and steel.

In addition to our burn-off service, we also provide a media blasting service that is a perfect complement to our other services. After the burn-off is complete, the parts are left covered with a layer of fine ash. This ash is easily removed through our media blasting service, in which we force solid particles (steel grit, steel shot, or aluminum oxide) across the surface at high speeds. Media blasting leaves the parts in the same state as sandpaper would, but with no rounded edges and a more even finish.
